Hello IntiFAM & Happy Fall!

Did you know that less than 1% of all plays produced by Seattle Rep, Intiman and ACT in the 40-50 years they’ve collectively been in existence, were written by a Latinx playwright? 2018 has seen this radically change. Right now – in Seattle, more shows are currently running by and with Latinx actors, writers and directors than ever before!

Shout out to NATIVE GARDENS by Karen Zacarías, at Intiman; JOURNEY OF THE SAINT by César de María at ACT; TWO SISTERS AND A PIANO by Nilo Cruz, at Theater Schmeater; FADE, by Tanya Saracho at Seattle Public Theatre; BRAINPEOPLE by Jose Rivera of Latino Theatre Projects at Theatre Off Jackson; & JUAN PALMIERI by Antonia Larreta of Thriving Artists at ACT. What an exciting time for Latinx art in our beautiful city!

NATIVE GARDENS is selling out fast!  Please get your tickets to the show written by the most produced Latina playwright in the nation HERE!

Peace,
Jennifer Zeyl, Artistic Director
Phillip Chavira, Executive Director

Mission: LRI is a media movement grounded in our pre-contact ways of life. We are independent media with direction. We are an adaptation of our story-tellers. We are content creators of many origins with a vision of returning Indigenous peoples of all “races” to a state of respect for generations unborn. We are a confluence of the waters of many peoples flowing quiet and mighty. We are taking our place, telling the world. Creating the New Indigenous Millennium. LRI Editor Matt Remle was in discussion with Intiman Executive Director Phillip Chavira at a NATIVE GARDENS talkback (click here for more).
