INTIMAN demonstrates an unparalleled vision by taking a “Dramatically Different” approach to combining artistic excellence, intellectual vitality and a commitment to building strong communities. Its patrons and donors share its vision that theatre can be a gathering place for entertainment at the highest level, and complex and generous discourse.

Over the next three years, INTIMAN’s Dramatically Different Campaign will ask the community to invest in its continued success more deeply than ever before. The campaign will raise $5 million and position INTIMAN for long-term sustainability. It will not only support the Theatre’s outstanding programs and productions, it will also benefit our entire community as it ensures INTIMAN’s leadership position in our region and lasting place as one of the nation’s great theatres.

Your donation is an investment in:
Core Artistic Activities Fund - $1 Million
Producing theatre of substance and scale takes resources—talent, production support and time. This fund will directly impact the productions on our stage by supporting our writers, director and designers, and will include commissioning fees, developmental workshops and premiere productions of new work. In addition, a small group of donors will have the opportunity to support the Theatre’s executive leadership.

The American Cycle Fund - $1.5 Million
The American Cycle has created a community of individuals committed to the arts and social responsibility that is without parallel in our history at INTIMAN. This fund will help support the American Cycle productions and programs: conversations and community readings, humanities forums, expanded student matinees and an original creative response to each season’s play created by local high school students.

Plant and Equipment Fund - $1 Million
INTIMAN Playhouse is one of the best spaces in which to create theatre anywhere in the country. This fund will provide the capital necessary to implement a comprehensive maintenance and asset replacement effort.  Technology on and off the stage plays an increasingly important role in the execution of the theatre’s work.  Building a dedicated fund will allow the theatre to replace antiquated equipment and maintain new and current assets far into the future.

Artistic Endowment Fund - $1.5 Million
In recent years, INTIMAN has received support from national and local donors in the form of endowment gifts, including recognition as one of the country’s “Leading National Theatres” with a three-year grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and sustained support from the Kreielsheimer Remainder Trust. This fund will allow INTIMAN to fulfill all of its current challenge grants and position the Theatre for a broad-based campaign in the future, thus allowing it to create essential works of artistic excellence for years to come.
