Intiman Theatre is proud to invite you to join in and celebrate the return of the live arts in a safe, outdoor setting! On the final weekend of summer, Harvard Ave. will transform into the HOMECOMING Performing Arts Festival, featuring vendors, food trucks, artist installations, a beer garden presented with Life on Mars, and over 100 artists performing on the mainstage. 

Performances will include children’s programming from South End Stories, live bands from Café Racer, dance from Velocity, stand up comedy curated by Emmett Montgomery, drag, burlesque, DJ sets, LGBTQ+ entertainment from BeautyBoiz, and much more. The artist lineup has been announced and festival passes and single day tickets are now available!

COVID SAFETY

For everyone’s health and safety, we are taking the following COVID safety precautions based on guidelines from the CDC and the state of Washington:

  • The event is held entirely outdoors
  • Masks are required
  • Festival capacity is being closely monitored to allow guests space to safely social distance if they so choose
  • Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the festival
  • Limited paper at the festival (digital programs, ticketless entry, etc.)
  • Proof of vaccine or negative COVID test within 72hrs is required to enter the beer garden

MEET THE CREATIVE DIRECTORS

Jennifer Zeyl (jz/they/she) is a 20 year resident of Capitol Hill, an insatiable member of our city’s performance landscape, and jz is so joyful to be collaborating with community to bring you HOMECOMING! Previous performance commissions and curation are with Washington Ensemble Theatre, Smoke Farm’s LoFi Festival, City Art’s Genre Bender and Canoe Social Club. Jen works at Intiman as their Artistic Director, celebrates 10 years this summer and looks forward to 10 more as we move into our bold, new partnership with Seattle Central College on Capitol Hill.

Wesley Frugé (he/him) is a producer, director, actor, fundraiser, and community organizer. A native Texan, Wesley relocated to Seattle in late 2013 after living in NYC for 8 years. He is the Director of Development and Communications at Intiman Theatre. Wesley founded and was the Producing Artistic Director of Forward Flux Productions from 2013-2018. He is the co-founder and Executive Director of BeautyBoiz, and co-creator and director of THE GRIEF DIALOGUES stage show. He produces and directs drag shows and nightlife events for the LGBTQ+ community, and has spent over 20 years working in the theatre. With Forward Flux, he produced and/or directed ten new plays, and over fifty live art events. He has conceived and directed artist residencies, new play development series, podcasts, and countless live events around the country. Wesley serves on the steering committee for the Capitol Hill Arts District. BFA Musical Theatre, Sam Houston State University.

HOMECOMING Performing Arts Festival will be held on Harvard Ave. btwn Pike / Pine in front of the Erickson Theatre. The entrance to the festival is near 801 E Pine St, 98122.

PARKING

Parking for HOMECOMING Performing Arts Festival is available on the street, or at the parking garage located at 1609 Harvard Ave, 98122. Parking is $10/day.

ACCESSIBILITY

HOMECOMING Performing Arts Festival offers the following accessibility accommodations:

  • Street level / flat surface throughout the festival with no stairs
  • ADA accessible bathroom facilities
  • Reserved section by the stage for wheelchair seating
  • Reserved section with seats by the stage for guests who may need seating or enhanced visibility during the performances
  • ASL interpretation: An ASL interpreter will be on site for the duration of the Festival, providing interpretation when necessary. Many of the performances will be dance or visual and will not need interpretation.

Volunteers have several options for shifts (morning / afternoon / evening), and for which area you would like to help with. All Volunteers receive free Festival passes for the entire weekend, as well as free ticket offers to future Intiman productions and for events from Kendall’s DJ & Events, and BeautyBoiz.
