Front Porch Theater is a series of informal dramatic readings truncated from Intiman productions followed by facilitated conversations about how these stories and their themes resonate today. The series takes place in neighborhood gathering spots, civic and arts institutions, and unexpected venues that encourage spontaneous participation. Community members are “cast” for each 40-minute reading; those who don’t wish to read are encouraged to attend as audience and participate in the conversation that follows. Through Front Porch Theater, Intiman seeks to strengthen the relationship with its audience and broader community by creating a lasting civic conversation inspired by the themes of the plays.
