ABOUT THE PLAY

|
Truth, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Repeat that mantra over and over and you’ll fit right in with Diane, a Hollywood agent who doesn’t pull her punches (no matter who gets hurt), and Mitchell, her still-in-the-closet movie star client. That is, until he meetsand falls forAlex, a “rent boy” (aka “companion for hire”) and decides that it’s time to stop hiding. To complicate matters, Alex has a live-in girlfriend, Ellen, with complications of her own. This modern-day love triangle explodes when Mitchell lands the opportunity of a lifetimethe starring role that will launch his career into the stratosphere. The only catch is that the role is a gay man, and Diane is convinced that the key to Mitchell’s success (and, by extension, hers) is to keep her client, his new “friend” and the girlfriend all locked securely in the proverbial closet.
